There were several staff members working when we did this room on a slower day. Each and every one of the was nice and friendly. They also gave us hints promptly without making us feel silly.

Everyone was super friendly as usual. I liked how they gave hints as very small nudges in the right direction, but that they would make sure to give a few more nudges if we were still having some trouble.

Puzzles eighteightPAULIE

In true Locked Room fashion, the puzzles here were solid. I already expected this because they consistently deliver in terms of concept and execution.

There were a few puzzles that were right in front of us that we didn’t connect. When we got the nudge from our game master, we blamed ourselves for not seeing the connection and not the room itself.

We did this room as a group of two but there was enough to do for a bigger group of people. Make sure to use your eyes as much as your brain.

The puzzles here were great! The lesson I learned from this room is that if something is movable, then it’s probably for a reason.

This is a great room to do with a bigger group. There’s plenty to do, and some of the connections you need to make might be tougher to think of if you have a small group. Nothing is farfetched though – the puzzles here are set up to be quite intuitive.

I would say that although the puzzles in this room are fairly low-tech, the execution was fantastic. The puzzles here were still definitely on par with other rooms that make use of a lot of cool technology.

Look sevensevenPAULIE

This room makes good use of its space. The initial portion was small but the main portion itself was very spacey. The puzzles were strategically situated all around the room so that everyone can spread out and contribute. In terms of just the aesthetics, I thought it looked too clean to be a pirate’s ship, but I have no complaints otherwise.

Unlike Paulie, I actually thought that the room had a sort of organized disorganization, which made it look more like a pirate ship below deck. It was a little bit drawer/wardrobe heavy though, and I wish they could have implemented a few different ways to house the clues in this room.

Immersion sevensevenPAULIE

The immersion came mostly from solving the many puzzles. The lighting was appropriately dim (but not too dark) and the music was reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean. Unlike The Great Train Robbery though which evoked a feeling of being in an actual train, I didn’t really feel like I was in an actual ship.

The puzzles were quite engaging in this room, but I didn’t think there was anything particularly special about the room that made it more immersive than others.

Theme sevensevenPAULIE

The theme was good. It’s been done before many times and they did a solid job here.

This room was a good iteration on a very popular theme. The backstory was very fun and lighthearted compared to other rooms we’ve done with a similar theme.

This room merits a #gold. There are a lot of fun things to do here in this room. It wasn’t a bad room at all, but there wasn’t really anything that stood out. It was fun while it lasted, but the room didn’t stay with me. I recommend it to those wanting to exercise their brains for an hour. Bring both experienced and inexperienced players.

I’m giving this room a #gold. This would be a great room for a bigger group because of how spacious the room is and how the puzzles are set up. I think that this would be a good room to do for corporate audiences.
